Jadeite's pretty fast when he wants to be.
Before you ask, it's not that Jadeite is still 'evil', but that Rei is trying to think of excuses and Grandpa is unable to pinpoint what kind of energy he is sensing from Jadeite and so assumes he's got a repressed demon/evil spirit/etc. Jadeite's no devil.
